Lens with Purpose: Seminar & Exhibition at Kappa Senses

Earlier this month, we had the honor of joining the Lens With Purpose seminar at Kappa Senses Ubud, a meaningful event centered on the role of photography and videography in fostering sustainability. Hosted under the theme “Sustainability in Every Shutter” this seminar was more than just a presentation. It was a conversation on values, storytelling, and the impact of visual narratives in hospitality.

During the talk, Gusde walked the audience through our journey and philosophy in hospitality photography. The presentation was titled “Capturing Authentic Human Moments in Harmony with Nature and Culture” which reflects the core of what we do.

Topics we shared included:

  • The Evolution of Hospitality Photography
  • Authentic Human Moments
  • Harmony with the Environment
  • Natural Light: Ethical & Aesthetic
  • Movement and Mood
  • Sustainability in Visual Storytelling

Each of these themes holds a deeper purpose. We believe that the role of a photographer, especially in hospitality, is to preserve the soul of a place and the humanity of a moment. We believe that the camera is simply a tool. What truly matters is the why behind each image. We spoke about using natural light not just for beauty, but for ethical reasons. About moving with the rhythm of people’s lives instead of staging perfection. And about being present enough to see emotion in motion, whether it’s a child laughing at the beach or a mother holding her daughter at sunset.

“Photography becomes powerful when it becomes truthful.”

The seminar concluded with a message we carry everywhere:

The goal is not to ‘take’ a photo, but to ‘witness’ a moment.

We also presented our community-driven efforts, visual storytelling that uplifts rural areas, traditional cultures, and those whose stories deserve to be seen and felt. Through our camera, we hope to not only serve brands but also serve people. We are incredibly thankful to Kappa Senses Ubud for opening this platform and to everyone who attended with open hearts and minds. Sharing our work in this way affirms our belief that photography, when done with purpose, can lead to real connection and sustainable impact.
